Go See Sue Journal
What happens when you are an amateur coffee connoisseur, addicted to vintage historical spaces & travel with a journal? You end up driving the Ottawa Valley and finding beautiful hidden coffee shops to journal in. Here are some of my favourite hang outs to bring my journals, paper, stamps & brushes for a few hours of creative therapy. If you have locations to recommend, I would love for you to nominate locations for me to check out. Fill in the form below.
Ottawa Valley Coffee ~ Almonte Ontario
Nestled in along the main street of the historic town of Almonte Ontario, this eclectic space offers exposed brick, tin ceiling, vintage vibes and one of the best London fog’s I have had on my tours of coffee shops. This beautiful small town in the Ottawa Valley is also dubbed “little Hollywood of the north”. No doubt if you have watched a W movie, you have seen Almonte Ontario already.
Also to note that OVC is open on Mondays and Tuesdays, with only a select few main street stores open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Two other must stops are Tin Barn Market & Cheerfully Made, also open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The Tables are a bit smaller, so pack lightly if you are bringing journaling supplies. There is also an art store to grab supplies, check out JB Arts Also open on Mondays to Saturday.
Hourglass (formerly Cafe Bean) ~ Perth Ontario
Located in close proximity to the downtown core of Heritage Perth, Ontario, Perth, Canada, Cafe Bean was recently sold to new owners and now home of Hourglass. This lovely coffee spot is located in The Old Perth Shoe Factory and offer incredible high ceilings, exposed brick and industrial inspiration.
Perth, Ontario offers so many incredible boutiques, vintage shops & heritage qualities, you may feel you are walking the streets of a small UK town. While there, you must stop in to Pine & Patchouli, one of my go to spaces for energy cleansing or topping up on essential oils, crystals or Tarot Cards.
