Stittsville Farmers Market-Suzanne Tate

Sundays at The Farmer’s Market At The Barn

When you graduate from applied nutrition training, you enter a huge world of nutrition information coming at you from every angle, wellness coaches, Dr google, books, tv shows, advertising and all levels of people sharing diets. So how do you truly impact someone’s health if they have all the resources in the world to help them already?

Stittsville Farmer’s Market Beginnings & Nutrition

During the final year at Institute of Holistic Nutrition you are required to create a business plan and present it for your final mark. Background: I grew up going to the Eastern Townships of Montreal to Sutton, Knowlton and Montfort, St Saveur and I LOVED hitting all the markets tucked into the small towns along the way. There is nothing more fresh, inviting and hitting all your senses than a Farmer’s Market. So with this in mind and wanting to find that childhood memory, bring local fresh farm food to the village…… I created the Stittsville Farmers Market At The Barn.

2017 we created a great friday night market from 4 to 7pm. This year we changed the market to sundays 10 to 2pm with great success! Slowly the local residents are joining us every sunday to source great local fresh grown produce and experience a great market in a barn with tons of local history.

A huge shout out to a local resident and artist on etsy Tracy’s urban farmhouse for this gorgeous chalk board sign helping us keep clients aware of the veggies that are in season in Canada. Our Farmer’s Market does not allow resellers and only producers who are growing their own veggies and following certain growing practices.

Stay posted to upcoming events, workshops and happenings at the Market with the Market Newsletter. We have an incredible Crystal Bowl Vibrational Meditation experience happening this month @the barn. Stay tuned for pictures and experiences from these beautiful session with Kyle Delfino of Grace Love and Peace.
